Our Patients
Our patients live in rural and peri-urban areas of Ecuador, some of them with completed highschool studies, with basic income and 30 years of age on average. They respond to a reactive healthcare instead of a preventative approach.
Before our intervention, this was our average patient diagnostic:
5 cavities per person | 2.5 missing teeth |
10% with gingivitis | 2% with periodontitis |
1% with fluorosis | 36 months since last dentist visit |

The first time I went to a dentist I was 6 years old. I thought this time it would hurt a lot but it didn’t. I was treated for gingivitis, 5 cavities and I got some sort of stones extracted from my teeth. Now I go to the dentist very often.
Prevention of health problems
Heart attacks, complications of pregnancy, renal failure, endocarditis, rheumatoid arthritis, lung diseases, cerebral hemorrhages, oral cancer, halitosis, periodontitis, gingivitis
Fiesta de Sonrisas
It’s an event created to provide a friendly image for children during dental care, where we have recreational activities with clown, face painting, snacks and other games around the dental clinic, while waiting to be attended, giving them a positive image about going to the dentist, reducing their fear.

A day with clowns, painted faces, sports and games.
